2006 -------
I use Windows XP with Mozilla Firefox. After downloading
OOo_2.0.2_Win32Intel_install.exe or OOo_2.0.2_Win32Intel_install_wJRE.exe and
starting installation a temporary folder is correctly created with the
subfolders licenses and readmes, and with the files instmsia.exe, instmsiw.exe,
the four cab files and openofficeorg20.msi, setup.exe and setup.ini. In both
cases an error window then appears, saying that the windows installer service is
not available. I I then downloaded and installed the latest windows installer
version WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe and tried again. The same happened.
Also if I I start directly setup.exe in the temporary folder. I had no problems
with installing Oo 2.0.0 and earlier versions in the past or with installing
the latest Gimp yesterday. What is wrong?
