I have ubuntulinux (dapper drake) as the operating system, and the
version for oo is 2.0.2 on it. When I open a file in oowriter and try to
save it as xml (either word 2003 or docbook format) oowriter hangs. It
also hangs when I try to export the file as xhtml format.
Surprisingly when I try the same thing in windows-me on the same machine
(a pentium4 512 mb ram), oowriter is able to save the file in word
2003 xml format. The docbook xml format output doesn't give valid
output --i.e. a file of 1kb size is created but the file has no
relevant data. In the export as xhtml case, oowriter hangs. I use
openoffice 2.0.2 in case of windows-me also.

Pls. contribute a detailed step by step instruction - of course, it is important
to know from what menu you tried to export and to what xml format you tried to
export: DocBook? WORD2003?
No problem to export to these 2 formats with "2.0.2 German version WIN XP:
