Please enhance the word count feature soon. I asked for improvements on the first day I tried OOo, years ago, YEARS! Some students at my university cannot use Writer for their assignments, their thesis or ANY of their work, because they may NOT count the words in foodnotes etc. What is worse is that by not including this feature in Writer, it is not clear to them whether Writer includes words from footsnotes etc. when it counts. The word count feature in Word is rather impressing and it works perfectly for them. That is why I have not been able to convert a single of them to Writer. You could improve the word count with a minimum of work and help the tens of thousands of academics that needs this feature and the clarification involved in it. After all, this feature has been present in MS Word for a decade!
