however there will always be a platform where "Control" appears; the replacement
of "Control" to "Ctrl" or "Strg" (or whatever on whatever keyboard) depends on
the name of the keyboard configuration - which is basically freestyle. In this
case the keyboard was named "German" instead of "Germany" - which led to it not
being recognized for german replacements. If there was a better identifier for
the keyboard type i'd use it, but X11 shows another lack in this regard.
