In Excel, the 'Data Validation Settings Allow Custom' feature provides one
with the ability to enter arbitrary formulas that may be dependent on the
variable contents of the selected and/or other cells. This capability has
been useful; and, lack of this feature in OOo can be very challenging to work
around.
