  I should imagine it is a OpenOffice/data access driver issues of some 
description. Given that OpenOffice does not handle memory very well currently, 
I should imagine this to be the area to investigate.

due to the fact that this area in general could be improved and probably the
speed by complicated table srtucture, very big tables, complicated relations
etc. could fall, i send this issue further (as feature enhancement) to the
requirement team
