Again, 'cheaper' only when displaying images which have been downscaled. Cost is
increased decoding complexity when displayed at 1:1 scale (probably not too
bad?) and hurts compression. There might be a more optimal pixel size than
128x128- maybe slightly larger? I can provide real world png images for testing
and benchmarking if this is useful.
