I just want to say that this issue should not be closed even if issue 48910 is
fixed. Using kprinter as a printer for OOo leads to a UI that is confusing to
the user, because he first gets a print-dialog without n-up, then after clicking
okay a progress indicator makes it look like the file is being printed (well,
technically it is being "printed" to kprinter, but from the user's POV it's not)
and then after a considerable wait for a large document the user gets the
kprinter dialog with n-up printing.

This is hard to communicate to end users. It would be preferable if the standard
print dialog offered N-up printing right away or in the printer properties
dialog. The printer properties dialog is where Windows users expect the n-up
option because this is usually a printer driver feature under Windows.

Since OOo apparently can do n-up printing (see the Page Preview) it shouldn't be
too hard to add UI to the printer dialog for this.
