If these are numbers you should try the xy (scatter) chart. You will be asked wether you would like to sort the x values -> that should do the trick for you in a first step. (I know that there is still a bug in the sorting of x values in the old chart, but this is targeted to be fixed in the ongoing chart reimplementation ).
