I apologize for not having noticed this issue until now. The OCP (the ODMA
Content Provider) does not appear to be functional, although it continues to
be provided in the source tree.

A student was going to look into building it and testing it, but we didn't get
very far (and I may have scared him off).

With regard to setting defaults, you set the default for an individual
application using the Windows Registry, and the ODMA Connection Manager will
ensure that the appropriate DMS (if any) is connected as the default for the
specific application. (This is described at the end of the ODMA 2.0
Specification.)

However, I am not sure what Application ID OpenOffice uses for itself, and
whether or not it varies by component (Text, Calc, etc.).

With regard to test status, it does not appear that OO.o ever connects to
ODMA, based on a build of the OCP that the Star Office folks provided to an
ODMA user in Australia. (Connection must be done even to learn that there is
no default DMS available. There's discussion of that here:
http://ODMA.info/faq/2006/06/q060601b.htm) This might be an installation or
configuration problem. All I know is that we can show it doesn't happen,
using ODMA logging, but we don't know what must be done so that it will
happen, if it is a configuration matter. There are also bugs in the examples
of how to configure the OCP, but repairing what we could led to know
difference in results.
