Hi Stella,
Thanks for your reply. The alpha transparency of the pngs were not removed, just
stored in a different way. Please see Issue 60479. This optimisation was done
automatically by the tools I use, which after evaluating the many different ways
of storing the image data, must have found that a paletted image + alpha was
more efficient than full RGBA. A very handy tool (MS Windows) for looking at the
internal data of a png image, is TweakPNG:

Were there any other reasons to mark this Enhancement as 'Wontfix'?
