I have now got OOo 2.0.3 installed on PC-BSD 1.0, and a *locally* installed mysql server (the machine is a home machine on a different subnet to my work setup). The JDBC connector works and can connect to the locally hosted test database I have created on this machine, so the mailmerge wizard works too.
