I fixed the problem by guarding the rebuilds. The error was caused by the first
change that caused a rebuild of the MainSequence that later invalidated all
effect pointers including those in the std list that stored the selected
effects. Why we actually crashed is a mistery to me since all pointers are
refcounted with boost shared pointers this should result in changing unused
effects but not in crash. But all in all this is far more robust now
