CASE 1: the Format Paintbrush copies both character AND paragraph information.
The default "painting" then pastes both formattings as well so that the word you
click gets the character formatting copied, but the whole paragraph gets also
the paragraph parameters of the source paragraph.
To avoid this:
- in order to paste the character infromation only: Ctrl+Shift+click
- in order to paste the paragraph infromation only: Ctrl+click

Case 2: it's a problem not related to format paintbrush which we cannot fixed.
A default style has a minimum of formattings which are not explicitly described
in the style. Ex: the default color is black (or better "Automatic") but the
style doesn't carry this information. The style only contains "default", not
black.
That's why pasting attributes of texts which have not been previously manually
formatted won't work.
