Right now it is 50 characters, which is not much, especially for research papers, which often have long titles. Search for any term, eg. "operating system" or "distributed" on CiteSeer ( http://citeseer.ist.psu.edu/ ) and you will easily find papers with titles way longer than the current limit. Examples: - 73: "Active Messages: a Mechanism for Integrated Communication and Computation" - 83: "High Performance Messaging on Workstations: Illinois Fast Messages (FM) for Myrinet" - 129: "A Scalable Dynamic Load-Balancing Algorithm for SPMD Applications on a Non-Dedicated Heterogeneous Network of Workstations (HNOW)" Please expand the length of the booktitle field to over 150 characters, eg. 200 or 250.
