I try this at the moment here on our notebook with synaptics touchpad.
"OS": Win2000
Touchpad doesn't work in
- StarOffice/OpenOffice
- Mozilla Firefox
- Freehand (doesn't work correctly)
==> OOo is not the only program not working together with Synaptics Touchpad...
