@mh: No, I had not noticed it before. I see that I would be able to disable it
in a client installation. But I install OOo with "setup -a" to the network
folder. Where do I have to disable it, so that the user will not see "update
notification" at all? Is it possible to enable it for administrator but not for
normal users? The administrator has write access to the network folder, normal
users have only read access. (Perhaps a HowTo in the wiki is better than
discussing it in an issue?)
