As I can see, you use an old version of OOo.
Please get the current version from the download area and evaluate it.
Meanwhile, the feature supression of blank lines is integrated. The filter for
recipients works also.
This issue shows no point of defect. Therefore it will be closed.
Feel free to write a enhancement if you have a request.
