------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Sep 23 01:48:50 -0700 2006 ------- I had this problem. I followed this suggestion. I am on Win2K. Already had lots of fonts in WinNT/Fonts. Copied them to a new dir I created, Windows/Fonts, per above. No luck. Very annoying. Open Office is a great concept, but is a hard sell to those who are on the fence, because of problems like this. It shouldn't be this difficult to do what ought to be easy. Why can't OO just have enough built in intelligence to be able to look in the obvious locations for fonts? After all, there are only about four or five places MS has put them over the years. Or at least have a file locations tab somewhere, and let us point to the location of our fonts. And then put another link in the helps "fonts, adding under WinOS". Everything we can do to make it easier to migrate is something we should be doing. And everything we don't, makes it that much easier for inertia to keep the masses locked into "please submit your resume in .doc format" mentality. Fortunately, I can do that with OO, but my point is that without ease of use, my twelve year old son is likely to end up surrounded by MS Office platforms -- but please -- not if we can help it! </soapbox> But the suggestions about how to handle additions of fonts, I think, are good ones. Automatic detection would be the best -- multiple locations, with option to take all locations, and to autodetect at will, even better -- but at least the ability to spec the location, please. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
