------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Sep 24 17:07:03 -0700 2006 ------- An object in an MS-Word document fails to display correctly when opened in OpenOffice.org version 2.0.1 or 2.0.3 on a dual-Opteron workstation running SUSE Linux Professional 9.3. The document does display correctly in Microsoft Word 97 under Windows XP. For the purposes of this report I produced, using Office 97, a stripped-down document containing only the failing object, which consists of some boxes containing short text strings, together with arrows between the boxes. It's clear that there is some problem rendering the text strings properly, as if the boxes were neither wide enough nor high enough to contain them. Fiddling with page size or margins doesn't help, nor does using a remote X-server on a different Linux machine, with a different window manager and monitor. The problem exists in the PostScript file produced by the Print function as well. Here is the md5sum of the package I installed: b0739d09cdc5dad46bdb8e0eb1d942cb OOo_2.0.3_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz Here is the output of "uname -a" on the system running OpenOffice: Linux faith 2.6.11.4-20a-smp #1 SMP Wed Mar 23 21:52:37 UTC 2005 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux To document the problem I include the following attachments: oobug.doc The document itself. msword97.jpg An image of the document displayed in Microsoft Word 97 oo.jpg An image of the document displayed in OpenOffice.org 2.0.3 oover.jpg An image of the "Help" "About OpenOffice.org" window I hope this information is useful in identifying the problem.
