2006 -------
This is really straightforward. E.g:
1. Open a new spreadsheet.
2. Enter "123" in cell A1.
3. Select the cell.
4. Ctrl+F
5. Search for: "2", replace with "\n", more options, select regular expressions.
Click "replace"

Result: "1\n3"

This happens in all circumstances where replace with is "\n".

Perhaps it was fixed in 2.0.4?
