I believe the byte offset problem is already fixed in CWS atkbridge4, but I will
verify once resync to m186 is done.
The caret index problem seems to be more a writer issue than a bridging issue,
so I don't expect it to be fixed yet as well.
The caret change events with index -1 are sent by the paragraph objects that
just lost the focus. Not sending those sounds inconsistant to me, since if you
ask a not-focused paragraph for its caret position, it will return -1 as well.
