------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Oct 6 10:15:14 -0700 2006 ------- Hello everybody, in my installation, the staroffice import filters were not installed. When I had, on the command line, called oowriter with some old *.sdw file (StarWriter 5.0), a dialog opened, that allowed me to choose among different file formats, including StarWriter 5.0. However, when selecting that file format, I got a message "general input/output error". I first had submitted a bug report, and thanks to the help of the people here, I learned that I had to install the missing drivers. Now, everything works fine, and oowriter immediately knows how to interpret the file's content. I don't even have to select a file format. This is great. However, my suggestion is to improve the error message, indicating to a user what the problem might be.
