The formula editors of OOo1 and OOo2 work different, for example in OOo1 when
entering "q^8p"
the p is on the same height as the q whereas in OOo2 the p is considered as
part of the exponent
and set on the same height as the 8. Often this results in garbled formulas
when importing OOo1-
writer-files into OOo2 (or the opposite direction) but even more dangerous
formulas might be
changed without that the user notices. Personally I consider this as a very
severe problem because
an unnoticed error in a math formula might cause important problems and the
import filter should
take care of this (or the formula editors should behave the same way in both
versions).
