The gentoo build can be considered "clean" :-) with regard to printer
configuration if it does not change any file in gsl/psprint/source/printer (i
don't know which patches are applied to there, if any). If you want to try you
can use the binary build directly from openoffice.org. If you have a fast
download line this could be a quick crosscheck. But if you're on a modem line or
such I'd hesitate to ask that since the download is some 350MB nowadays. Also
you'd need an rpm tool to install those install sets on gentoo.

Probably it's easier if i simply have a look whether gentoo applies any patches
in that area. Do you know where i could find those ?
