So - the question is why is ENABLE_GTK set in configure.in, but test_gtk not set
? - indeed, why is there a 'test_gtk' thing at all ? it's purpose seems to be to
create this sort of problem.

Why would you want to have ENABLE_GTK set, but not correctly setup GTK_CFLAGS /
GTK_LIBS etc. properly ? that sounds crack-smoking to me.

Pavel - any idea what to do ? I suspect reversing the order of the checks here
BUILD_TYPE and adding

+ BUILD_TYPE="$BUILD_TYPE GTK"

more widely might be a solution - but really, at root it sounds like some
serious crack smoking going on here.

Suggested patch attached, if someone could test it / better add config_office to
CWS 'gtkquickstart2' and commit it - it'd be much appreciated. In the meantime
I'll explicitely disable this for OSX.
