On my system, a 1Ghz AMD Athlon with 384 Mbytes of RAM:- With the Quickstarter loaded, Writer takes about 30 seconds to load. Without the Quickstarter loaded, Writer takes about 48 seconds to load. When Writer has been loaded once and closed, Writer takes about 2 seconds to load (i.e. from a warm start). That is the kind of performance gain I would like to have. I guess there is a trade-off between how much code is loaded at boot-up, and how much more is loaded on quick launch.
