To make some numbers more readable, and additional scientific number format is
desirable: Instead of using selected powers of ten, use the commonly known
suffixes like this:
...
E-9 n (nano)
E-6 ยต (micro)
E-3 m (milli)
[E-2 c (centi)]
[E-1 d (deci)]
E3 k (kilo)
E6 M (mega)
E9 G (giga)
E12 T (Terra)
...

Whil you can write those as text right now, you cannot use arithmetic on such
strings. Thus the desire for such a numbering format.

Example: "667000B" could be "667MB" or "0.67GB"

Details of the format specification would still have to be worked out...
