SBA: I tried developer build SRC680m190 (younger than OOo 2.04):
- Open file (.txt and .gen version)
-> ".gen" takes more than 10 times it takes to open ".txt", maybe a file type
detection problem...
-> Font and font size sizes is different (Cumberland 10pt in ".txt", Courier
12pt in ".gen"). THIS is where the different layout (automatic line breaks) come
from. I can see no "inserted line or paragraph breaks" when switching on the
view of nonprinting characters.
- Set font to "Cumberland 10pt" in both documents (to have equal line breaks)
- Tools-Update-Reformat pages, save as .odt, reopen, see
File-Properties-Statistics.
-> Result:
(2a) ".TXT" version = 1369 pages, 5,650,264 characters
(2b) ".GEN" version = 323 pages, 1,172,573 characters
=> approx. 80% of the content gets lost! I adjusted the summary to meet the
findings.
