And often you only want to send part of the document - for instance you want to send exactly what you would print out, which is probably only a couple of layers. So there are many times you would DEFINITELY NOT want to send certain layers, for instance if you are making a new drawing and basing it on an old one. You have the old one there while you make the new one and then send, or print, just the new layer. Or you may want to draw a plan with two possible alternative completions. You need the ability to send each of these versions separately. Hence it is REALLY IMPORTANT to be able to choose which layers you print, or which layers you send in a PDF.
