------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Oct 27 18:07:25 -0700 2006 ------- Excel documents with non-English characters (Norwegian in my case) are incorrectly displayed in OpenOffice/NeoOffice. Upon testing and comparing notes with other users I've found out that the Excel documents in question have been created with the UTF-8 character set while Open-/NeoOffice expect ISO-8859-1. I confirmed this by running the Excel files through a character-set remapper (changing it from UTF-8 to ISO-8859-1) and they displayed correctly. The Excel files in question are online banking statements. They open up with the correct characters in Microsoft Excel (on the Mac as well as the Windows platform), but not in Open-/NeoOffice as explained above. However, having tried to create an Excel document myself in Microsoft Excel (Windows) with Norwegian characters, then opening it in NeoOffice the document displays correctly! --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
