To intentionally reproduce this phenomenon, do the following steps
on a UNIX variant: 
 1. Start Calc.
 2. Fill a cell with something.
 3. Save the document to a file. (1st file)
 4. Create a new empty spreadsheet. (2nd file)
 5. Copy the cell in the 1st file and link it to the 2nd file using 
    Edit - Paste Special.
 6. Create another new empty spreadsheet. (3rd file)
 7. Fill a cell with something.
 8. Start a terminal emulator.
 9. Type the following command: pkill -SEGV soffice.bin

    Calc would start saving unsaved documents and proceed to a 
    recovery process. During the process, you would find the 
    phenomenon described above.
