Verification overview: Open both attached documents. Observe whether the
toolbar configurations are the same, and whether changes in one document window
are reflected in the other. (In my system, the two sets of toolbars are
radically different. The slave document shows both toolbars much shortened, and
occupying only one line.)
Stem By Step:
1) Open the attached master document. Observe that it opens as a master, by
checking the Navigator pane; the master/normal icon should function.
2) Observe the toolbar configuration, particularly whether the standard and
formatting toolbars each occupy a separate line, or whether they are together on
one line.
3) Open the attached slave document. It is probably not necessary to use the
master-slave link. As long as the document opens in non-master fashion, that
should do. Check the Navigator pane; the master/normal icon should *not*
function.
4) Observe the toolbars as in Step 2. Please record any observed differences.
5) If the toolbars in the slave document occupy two separate lines, please press
on the dotted line at the left-hand end of the formatting toolbar, and drag it
to the right-hand end of the standard toolbar. They should now occupy one line.
6) Switch to the master document by selecting Window>MenuStuckMaster.
7) Observe whether the toolbars occupy one or two lines.
If the toolbars appear the same in both windows, then the problem is not readily
reproducible on your system. In that case, I will provide further information
on what I found when I searched for modified .xml files. I would *definitely*
appreciate further help. /tj
