------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Dec 3 18:45:52 -0800 2006 ------- An additional note: It is not possible, with the current version of Java for the Mac, produced by Apple to start a headless Java session to run an applet in for OpenOffice.org. It is possible to do so in Mozilla/Safari but these are native applications. It was not possible to run a Java applet in NeoOffice.org because it was a Carbon/ObjC application. It may take writing a Cocoa native version of OpenOffice.org, but that would require a major rewrite of OpenOffice.org for the Mac. It may never be possible to run a Java applet from within a HTML window on the Mac version of OpenOffice.org, nor should it be possible due to the security system employed by Apple.
