------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Dec 20 06:12:11 -0800 2006 ------- @mark_wainwright: I am going to be a lot more forthright than ericb, who is acting as the Mac OS X porting lead. NO THE OPENOFFICE.ORG MAC DOWNLOAD SITE SHOULD NOT MENTION NEOOFFICE.ORG Why, first they are different projects. Second, they are on the web site as a DERVATIVE product. NeoOffice.org is basically a Carbon/Java and Carbon/ObjC wrapper around the original OpenOffice.org 2.0 code. The Mac OS X porting project is about one year into converting the X11 version of OpenOffice.org UNIX to a Mac OS X Apple HIG interface. To mention NeoOffice would be a slap in the face of those folks who have worked long hours to make this happen. Sorry, No NeoOffice on the Mac OS X web pages. Plus, I come from the land of UNIX/Linux and have helped greatly with the improvements by testing them. You can also do so. Assistance is needed greatly in the Aqua project/X11 project with: Programming. Testing. Building (you need not be a programmer to help build the Aqua project, just attempting and reporting back the problems you encounter is helpful.) This will get you into the Aqua project BEFORE it is released to the public.
