This sounds as if there's a potential for some "lean bag and grab yourself a bag
of popcorn" ... :)

Well, I don't like popcorn, so: P3 is fine here, though I agree with you that it
makes using OOo with Oracle somewhat ... difficult. However, if we'd define
"Basic functionality" with the granularity suggested by you, Justin, then we
would have a hard time. OOo Base is, much more than the other applications, an
open system with a lot of interfaces to external components, which naturally
makes it more prone to errors in working with certain such external components.
We have to be reasonable in defining our priorities, to ensure we're focusing on
the right things.

Interesting to read that you noticed this Oracle support as one of *the* new
features in 2.0, though. It was never intended this way (instead it was just a
shortcut for some users to easier set up Oracle connections), but yes, you
*could* read the new UI this way ...
