Armin, could you again think about the code currently used and give a rough
estimation of a size that is not going to break everything at the first look.
Personally, I can live with some 'insecure' values. Arbitrary sizes would be
nice, but are not possible with the current implementation. So, please adjust
the patch according to your experience with the algorithms currently used. I set
the target to 2.3 to give us the chance to change this value for the next major
release (2.4), in case something fails.
