This is very inconvenient if reports are based on the view and you want to make a change to the table. Then you have to delete both view and report, make the change in the table and then start all over again. For some reason I once managed to add a field to such a table, but then the whole database collapsed (see attached file), complaining about inconsistency between the tables and views.
