AW: I understand Your complaints, but this is not an error since it works as
intended. There is no mechanism which allows something like a 'common shadow' of
multiple objects. Each object has it's own shadow, so when You have two
overlapping objects, sure the shadow of the front object overlaps the back
object. That's intended and i do not know graphic programs which work different
(tell me if...).
I still see the demand for something like this (i thought about it myself), but
it would be an enchancement request, not a bug/defect.
When filing such an enchencement, please make sure to think about that feature
in advance: There is a reason graphic programs do not have that:
- How to 'group' the shapes which should have a common shadow? I am sure if You
make a 'shadow' layer (btw: layers in OOo do NOT influence the Z-Order, but this
is another point...) You will get errors that not every shape has it's shadow.
- Think about a 'Plane' on which You have objects which shall have shadows
casted on that plane, would no longer be possible...
- When applying this to connectors, You would need some 'guessing' algorythm to
define a common shadow group. This is not deterministic since everyone would
decide 'intuitively' but different.
AW: It's definitely not a defect, closing.
