Seeing same symptoms. Running WXP, McAfee firewall, Firefox, OO2.1, dial-up,
tight security. If soffice.bin is trying to check for updates when I'm not
online, it could have a serious problem. AFAIK, it should pop up a connect
request window (which I would cancel), and go away. /tj
