on first glance this doesn't look like a simple dependenciy problem.
touching productversion.mk triggers a rebuild but doesn't make sure that
previously created output still containing the versioning is either removed or
overwritten. this get especially funny because the following operations fetch
their targets with lots of wildcard usage...
this all is just an issue when changing the version in an incremental build
which hopefully was already done for 2.2. i would suggest to move the target to
at leas 2.2.1 if not 2.3.
anyway i'll have a look into some kind of cleanup mechanism
