Since the last time this came up the gtk_im_context_reset was causing a plethora
of problems I'm kind of opposed to the patch. And it was exactly the koreans
that were complaining then; see issue 45768. Funny thing is gedit used to move
the preedit around like we do now. Seems there are two opinions on that
behaviour even in Korea.
