My problem is not with printing to file (which by itself is of course important), but that there are *different* printer preferences for printing to file. The radio button this issue is about more or less acts like a "tab" in the dialog, creating two sets of options one for the actual printer, one for print-to-file. This faux tab behaviour is what is confusing.
