I saw some issues that had a similiar subject but the causes discussed there do
not seem relavent to my document.

One random word in every couple of lines has been compressed with one letter in
the word almost overlapping the previous letter. For example the "i" is almost
on top of the second "d" in additions in the first paragraph.

I am running Fedora Core 6. The problem was identical in 2.0 as it came with
Fedora Core 6 and with open office 2.1 which was downloaded off the
openoffice.org website. I used both evince 0.6 and acroread 7 to view the PDF
and they both show the same problem. The document appears fine on the screen
within openoffice and if it is printed directly from OpenOffice its only a
problem with the PDF.
