Running OOo 2.1 under KDE 3.5.5 on Linux 2.6.18-gentoo-r6 (i686).
Normal printing uses CUPS 1.2.6 to access remote printers.
Fax software is HylaFAX 4.3.0.
Java is the JRE from Sun java-1.5.0.10.

Under OOo 2.0.4 (same machine) I installed a fax printer using spadmin. Faxing
an OOo document worked well.

After upgrading to openoffice-bin-2.1.0 faxing gets as far as asking for the
telephone number and then emits an "Error while printing" alert box. This
always happens in all OOo components.

This problem is independent of:
1) whether I use the "Send default fax" button on my tool bar or select the fax
printer from the File->Print dialogue.
2) whether I enter a telephone number, click OK or just click on Cancel.
3) the document involved.

What does work:
1) sending a test fax via the "Test Page" button in spadmin.
2) printing the document as a PostScript file and sending it via KPrintFax.
