OK - I think the problem is that I don't have an Icelandic dictionary installed
either. I did not realize that a custom dictionary doesn't work unless you also
have the dictionary for the language installed.

Assuming this is how it is meant to work - then it's not a bug, just me not
understanding how the software works. Sorry about that.

Below is what I did, for the record.
1. Start openoffice writer
2. type hhtt
3. press f7
4. click "options" in the spellcheck dialog
5. click "new" in the writing aids dialog
6. Name = "Icelandic"
7. Language = "Icelandic"
8. Click OK
9. Check "Icelandic" in the list of User defined dictionaries
10. Click OK
11. Click Close
12. Right click on hhtt - the Icelandic dictionary does not appear.
