That for example is the moment when I clicked the pulldown-Arrow for use of Automatic-filter, select "Standard" and loose the left mouse button, in that moment data range becomes selected, highlighted and flickering starts. This effect is not reproducible with all documents, only with big, complex sheets. You should be able to reproduce a similar effect with attached "test.ods" and with "Dev 2.2.0 English version WIN XP: [680m7(Build9118)]": 1. Open file 2. click 'A2' 3. scroll (using sliders) so that 'T220' is visible at the bottom right end of the screen (more or less, the exact cell does not matter) 4. <shift> + <left mousebutton> on the last right bottom cell nearby complete visible screen area will become highlighted (black) 5. Now move mousepointer down, so that the visible contents will start to scroll down up (scroll slider moves down). expected: some more cells sill become highlighted without any effects actual ugly black and white filckiering while the screen contents scrolls. Such flickering (5Hz?) I also see in some bigger sheets after <cntrl>+<a> or other higlight operations. With "test.ods" the flickering when using Autofilter is not reproducible.
