------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Feb 26 00:48:28 +0000 2007 ------- OOo 2.1.0 on Windows XP crashes when I attempt to open an existing database. Steps to reproduce: - uncheck "Load OpenOffice.org During System Start-Up" - "Exit Quickstarter" - select OpenOffice.org Base from Start/Programs menu. in Database Wizard: - select Open an existing database file - select a "Recently used" database from the drop-down list. - click "Finish" At this point I see a window appear for a fraction of a second, then disappear. If I start Base again, I get the "OpenOffice.org Document Recovery" dialog. After I proceed through the recovery, the OpenOffice.org Base window appears, (possibly) allowing access to the database (depending on the database, see Issue 73093). I can create a new "database", and I will get the same results when I attempt to open that database using the above procedure. "Database" creation procedure: - select OpenOffice.org Base from Start/Programs menu. in Database Wizard: - select Connect to an existing database - select MySQL - click next - select "connect using ODBC" - click next - type name of data source - click next - either enter user name or use name in ODBC, this doesn't make a difference - click "test connection" - click finish - type name into Save As dialog The OpenOffice.org Base window appears. I first noticed this problem after I installed several Windows updates. I no longer suspect the problem to be related to the Windows updates, as I had been avoiding attempts at using Base due to errors since upgrading from 2.0.2 to 2.1.0. Uninstalling/reinstalling OOo did not help. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
