The standard palette should guide the User to a professional color choice in their work- which is best achieved through having a minimal selection of colors from which to choose. Of course, this should also be combined with easier facilities to create and use custom colors so that the more creative User is not constrained. Both these issues (enhanced palette, better color picker) are active elsewhere... VA, if you are the lucky individual addressing OOo User Experience for colors, could you suggest which (of the many open Issues) are they key ones- so that community members (such as kami) might contribute / follow discussions on this topic.
