------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Mar 7 20:17:25 +0000 2007 ------- The equation editor misplaces bars over characters, generally placing them too far left and also often making them too short. This is worse with some fonts than others--e.g., worse with Times Roman than Verdana. If you put quotes around the character, thus converting the character from math/italiced to text/unitalicized, the bar is where it should be. (I think it stays in the same place, but the top of the character moves to the left.) It looks like the code for placing the bars does not recognize that the equations use italicized fonts. Several people have replicated this, and between us, we have found it in a wide range of equations. E.g.: bar X =left(X_1 +X_2 right)/2 I have not checked the placement of other over-the-character symbols. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
